The specifications of the car
Just like many other SUVs out there, Volkswagen Touareg is a combination of both utility vehicle and a sport vehicle. This means you can use this car to go off-trek while still keeping it at top speed. For those looking to live the speedy life or the off-road life, this vehicle is designed just for you.
Or is it? Many people told me that this SUV is not as good as any other car of the same class thanks to the many problems with it. Before we begin talking about the problems, let us first talk about its specification.
The 2017 Volkswagen Touareg is fitted with a V6 engine (which should be nice, but is actually not. More explained later) and an automatic transmission that can go up to number 8. All of the versions come with a very needed all wheel drive, which should be necessary for off-road usage. It comes with many safety features and the infotainment system is easy to use. Radio, GPS, and many other technological mumbo jumbos will not be hard to use in this car. The car got 5 seats for person of normal weigh, a diesel engine, and it got 280 horsepower, which is a lot of horses in my opinion. It is priced at 50,000 dollars, give or take.
Now let us talk about why it is a bad car
While the specifications might be standard for cars of 2017, the price to performance ratio is not that good. I mean, for 50,000 US dollars, you can get a much better performing car other than this one. While it got a V6 engine strapped, the V6 often feels underwhelming (read: it feels more like a multi-purpose vehicle than a sport utility vehicle), and its fuel consumption level will put America’s thirst for fuel to shame.
I mean, it is not a luxury car, and if a non-luxury car got a price tag that high, how high a luxury car’s price can be? For the same price tag or less, you can get the nice Mercedes Benz GLE, which is a good car on its own, or the Lexus RX, which is another good car that will serve the purpose well.
